Little Red Faces
I can't believe the list of foods that make Nicholas's face turn red wherever the food comes into contact with his skin...and it keeps growing. Here's what we have so far:
BBQ sauce ranch dressing processed cheese spread raspberries pears (only if the peel is left on)
steak sauce cinnamon
The redness is a little hard to see in this photo, but his cheeks and lips turned bright red after eating bbq sauce. I've tried different brands, but have had the same results. Hayden hasn't had the variety of foods Nick has, but the BBQ sauce and ranch dressing make his face red, too.
The nurse at the pediatrician's office said that it was just a skin sensativity and just to avoid those foods. We've been doing that, but it is hard when Nicholas eats his food better when he has something to dip the food into and many of the things we would give him for a dip are foods we are to avoid. The boys have a well visit with the pediatrician next week so I can discuss this with her further then. What is weird is that none of these foods has anything obvious in common. Maybe a sensitivity to a perservative or chemical???
