Rolling...rolling...rolling

A few weeks ago, Hayden figured out how to roll from his back to his right side. Recently, he just figured out how to roll from his back to his left side.  He has trouble getting his left arm out of the way so that he can get to the left side easily or all the way onto his back or tummy.  It's amazing to watch him try to figure this out.  He tries and tries until he figures it out.  He never gets upset or frustrated if he is having a hard time rolling. This is the attitude that is going to help him to make the absolute most of whatever abilities he does have.  We are so proud of him!

Now that he's close to rolling over all the way, it's time to start thinking about how to baby proof for a blind child.  Unfortunately for Nicholas, we are going to have to be strict with him about picking up all his toys as soon as he is done with them.  That should be interesting since he is still too young to understand that brother can't see very well.  We will also figure out where we want the furniture and leave it there so that he can begin to remeber where it is and avoid it.  There are so many things I'm sure we haven't even begun to think about.  All this to think about and he is only rolling.  What if he was crawling?  Unfortunately, he is nowhere close to that.  I think we can talk the legs into doing what they need to.  The arms are another story.  Lefty arm doesn't want to bear any weight, and righty arm is too busy searching for things to spend much time trying to hold him up.  We can't wait to see him roll all the way over.  Oh, how exciting that will be!
