Our Helper Boy

Nicholas has become quite the helper. Any job that needs to be done, he's right there ready to "help" out. One of his first jobs was to close the basement door after we came up from playing. He has since expanded that job to closing every door. He even likes to open doors just so he has something to close. What a goofball!! He also enjoys helping Mommy clean the floors. Anytime the closet door opens, he does his best to grab either the vacuum or the Swiffer. Turning off the lights is also another fun job. He begs for you to pick him up so that he can play with the light switches. You should see the grin that plasters his face when we actually let him do it. Looks just like the cheesy grin he has every time we get out the camera. This week, I decided that he was tall enough to help with the laundry (front loading washer and dryer). He can now put his clothes and Hayden's clothes in the washer. I love how that he is actually learning how to do chores and having fun.

Yesterday, Nick also took one more step to being a big boy. He peed and pooped in his potty!!! Pretty impressive for a 1.5 year old!!! Daddy happened to notice that he seemed like he was trying to poop and got him to the potty in time.

Nicholas also provides much needed laughter and hugs to our family. He is always entertaining. Much more fun to watch than TV!! We are blessed to have him he is such a joy. I've been wondering if he is so easy because of all he put us through when he was born. Or, if he's just easy now and we're going to pay for it later. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

  1. What a cutie pie! I love that picture! And horay for the potty!!!! That is great news for mom and dad too- maybe he will be an early and easy bloomer when it comes to using a toilet.

  2. Erin, just keep him cleaning. Boys are a precious gift from God, and we know he is watching over them. Love you, Donna
