We now have one less baby gate in the house thanks to Nicholas. Apparently, he has decided he's a big boy now and there was no longer the need to have the gate at the bottom of the stair to prevent him from going upstairs. That gate was very tight against the wall and the latch was duct taped down, so I'm not sure how he got it down, but he did quickly. It must have finally weakened enough from all of his previous attempts. Without the gate, I figured that I would spend the entire night going up and down the stairs with Nicholas. Much to my amazement, he only did the stair thing a few times. As long as all the doors upstairs are closed, there isn't anything for him to do up there, so there is no incentive to be up there. He's been really good without the gate so it remains down...yea! It's so nice to be able to use the stairs without having to step over a gate, especially carrying Hayden.
Hayden, as of today, has one less doctor. Now, he's down to 10 doctors. Hayden's renal ultrasound didn't show any changes, so his urologist released him today. He has been seeing a urologist since he was released from the NICU because of kidney calcification that was likely caused by all of the diuretics he was given when he was in the NICU. While in the NICU he had a fungal infection in his urine that required several rounds of a very strong medicine to get rid of it. That medicine is also hard on the kidneys--another reason to be followed by a urologist. What an awesome day!!!
