Once again we had to drive all the way to Detroit for a quick eye exam. On the way there, we had time for once to stop at a restaurant an have a nice lunch. We had been wanting to eat at Quaker Steak and Lube in Portage, Indiana so we decided to stop there. We had picked up Hayden's wheelchair the Friday before our trip, so we were very excited to get it out in public and use it. It was so cool that Hayden could sit with us at the table and join in the conversation. As always, we offered to buy him anything and everything he wanted from the menu if he would just eat it, but he just shook his head. Maybe next time...
Since we didn't have Hayden's wheelchair at the time we booked out hotel, we didn't have an accessible room. Things were a little tight, but it was only for one night. We will have to remember that for our next trip. Nothing new came from Hayden's eye exam. He wants us back in August for an exam under anesthesia. We were intrigued about something he said about a possible microchip for Hayden in the future. I guess the microchip produces some sort of artificial vision. Although we have no idea how far down the road that is, it is still exciting to know that he may have some options.
We were glad to get home before Nicholas went to bed. He decided to be silly and have a mini photo shoot with mommy. I think he was just wanting some undivided attention. He looks so big lounging in his pajamas. For some reason, he needed to point out the naughty corner to me. As if I have no idea where it is, silly boy.
