Neurosurgeon Appointment

Hayden had his annual neurosurgeon appointment this afternoon. He has a shunt series and a CT scan so the doctor had baseline scans on file to compare future scans to.  We are thankful to report that everything looks fine, especially since the last 2 yrs at this time Hayden was in the hospital for shunt revisions.  Next year at this time, we will be back for the same type of exam. 

Having a nurse for Hayden is exhausting for me.  I need to stop going to bed at midnight so that I can spend a couple of hours cleaning the house after Hayden goes to bed.  Of course there are toys everywhere, dishes to be done, laundry to be put away, bills to be paid, services/equipment/appointments to coordinate for Hayden, and a stack of papers that needs to be dealt with, but there is no way I can do all of that every night.  So, I am going to go to bed.  It will be 4:45am before I know it, and time to get ready for work.  Yes, I am exhausted and have more to do than I can possibly ever accomplish in a day, but I love being a mom so much more than I ever could have imagined.  It is all worth it.
